Cost-Effective

Unlike BMI, ASCAP charges a fee to join as a songwriter & publisher. However, the collective cost of both is cheaper than the cost to join BMI as a publisher.

Flexibity

You can join ASCAP even if you don't have an US Social Security Number or if you are not a US citizen

Modernized

Due to the fact that ASCAP was created after BMI, the organization has a more modern touch.
